Frank Key, the leading independent building supplies family business operating for more than 100 years across the Midlands, has launched a new Key Essentials offer.

For the first time, every single Frank Key branch will stock core products at a genuine trade net price to enable customers to buy with confidence without the need to spend valuable time haggling at the trade counter.

It’s part of a series of initiatives being introduced by the senior management team led by new chairman Chris Cunliffe, former CEO of Selco, as the company gears up for further expansion.

Key Essentials are the top everyday products, now guaranteed to always be in stock at all five of the building supplies branches located across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Yorkshire.

Group MD James Norton explains: “This is about future-proofing the business and getting the foundations in place as we look to move forward. Our customers don’t have the time to waste haggling to try and get the best deal or driving around to find where items are in stock. They want to be able to price their jobs with confidence and know they are getting a fair price, every time at any Frank Key branch.”

Key Essentials will continually expand and already includes more than 130 products and materials for landscaping, roofing, plastering and general building projects.

The price initiative is designed to ensure the business is offering consistency across all its multiple locations with the customer at the heart of the experience. Over the last 10 years, the company has grown from a single merchant branch including plant and tool hire to a multi-branch operation comprising five building supplies branches and 14 plant and tool hire branches.
