Strong adhesion to rough surfaces
A standard, traditional suction cup is a handy tool that’s been useful in the building industry for many years. A big setback that it has is that it’s only capable of creating a secure seal on a flat, clean and airtight surfaces such as glass. This is where the Grabo shines, as it is way more diverse than creating a seal on just a flat surface; the tool allows for a secure seal on rough and etched surfaces. There are limitations, but these are generally limited to an amplitude of approximately 2.5mm so you are able to create a secure seal with most patterned tiles, pavers and construction materials.
In the past, a traditional suction cup was the only tool in the industry for lifting materials, but a major setback is that they are only capable of lifting items with a flat, clean and airtight surface. This is where the Grabo sets itself apart.
Provides a secure seal against porous materials
The Grabo is an exceptionally useful tool within the building industry as it can lift porous materials, which is what many construction materials are. This includes wood, concrete, rock, gypsum boards and different types of ceramic tiles. On extremely porous materials such as limestone, dry cast concrete and OSB boards, the Grabo will not work.
A typical suction cup can’t hold porous materials, and will lose its hold within a matter of seconds. This is because the air seeps through the porous materials, reducing the adhesion. Grabo overcomes this issue by constantly pumping out large volumes of air at a faster rate than it is arriving through the material, allowing the tool to maintain its grip. The tool must have the motor running constantly for this to happen.

The Grabo is a tool designed to work optimally in the building industry, and there are a few safety protocols to follow while using the tool to ensure the user is working safely.
- Do not use the Grabo to climb or secure a person to a surface. This may result in injury or death.
- If the sealing force decreases at a noticeable rate, while fully charged, check the rubber foam seal for any damage. If there is damage, do not lift anything until the seal has been replaced.
- Use only the battery pack that is supplied with the Grabo. Keep the batteries away from metal objects when not in use.
