8 April 2020. Frank Key Group took the decision to temporarily close its network of five building supplies branches and 15 plant and tool hire depots in an attempt to help control the spread of Covid-19, placing the safety and well-being of our staff, customers and business partners at the heart of this decision.

We would like to thank everyone for their understanding during this period, it was not a decision we took lightly, we really appreciate the large number of positive messages of support. During this period of closure, the vast majority of our staff have been furloughed to help with the social distancing efforts of the nation. We attempted to contact all customers regarding outstanding deliveries prior to closing, but inevitably some slipped through the net, we have since been able to contact many of those missed and either processed refunds or held the delivery for a future date. If anyone has still not been contacted, please email the details to [email protected], which is being monitored on a daily basis.

Since our temporary closure took effect, the Government has continued to push for the construction industry to continue, provided it is performed safely and social distancing is adhered to. Builders Merchants and Tool Hire businesses have been actively encouraged to reopen to keep the industry flowing, with both identified as providing essential services.

As a business we are currently reviewing ways we can reopen in a restricted manner when our staff are eligible to come off furlough. We are initially assessing how we can do this safely for all concerned and abide fully with social distancing rules, it is highly likely this will occur with a very limited number of our branches and would be a delivery only service initially. We have a small number of available staff that are preparing Daybrook and clearing some backlog to hopefully make this possible at this branch towards the end of week commencing 13th April.

Our sites continue to remain closed for the current period.

We are in a fast-moving, ever changing environment, so the above will depend entirely on future government advice and us being certain we can safeguard the health and well-being of our employees and customers.

Thank you again for your understanding and patience, we will look to update you further in the coming days.
